You keep on talking, you discuss, think that’s the way to go
But there’s no way ahead of us, not with words and no deeds
I know you’re thinking I’m too young, too young to understand your plans
But what have they done for us? All these your plans of old
Don’t you believe its time to change the hearts that are involved
O ma se O – I can not dream again
O ma se O – all my dreams are gone
O ma se O – how could you turn my dreams to naught
O ma se O – tell me “reality”
O ma se O – you are teasing me, hurting me, killing me, causing me, a lot of pain
O ma se O – i can’t take no more
O ma se O – i can’t take no more
We want our future back – I can not dream again
We want our future back – all my dreams are gone
We want our future back – how could you turn my dreams to naught
We want our future back – tell me “reality”
We want our future back – you are teasing me, hurting me, killing me, causing me a lot of pain
We want our future back – i can’t take no more
We want our future back – i can’t take no more
The old guard refusing to let go fo the reigns. Under different guises, they find a a reason to stay on, handing power over one to another, no change really. The new generation, fully capable of making their own mistakes but also fully capable of taking the world to the next level are not given the opportunity. In the business world, change of guards is critical to continued success. Succession planning focusing on ensuring there is a ready pool of generational leaders ready to take over when the current generation can no longer play the role. But in politics, that seems like a distant dream. That requires a long term view which most politicians can’t really commit to given the ‘termed’ nature of the ‘opportunity’ they’ve been given by being elected or by managing to get themselves into the position…. the story is old but the pain and lost dreams should never be forgotten.
